I called and they accept women almost guaranteed even walk-ins and they help you find permanent shelter.

Personally, this one of the biggest women+++ (identify as women) only shelters in the United States that still have existed for more than 10-20 years in New York City. It still services over 100-200 on a daily basis who from abusive relationships, jail incarceration, mental health facilities and other situations deemed unsafe. Even though the neighborhood is filled with poverty, crime and mechanic shops for over 10 miles, this still serves one of the first Top #10 Places homeless and battered women go for shelter. It even used to be a NY Public School but has been renovated to be instituted as a shelter. Thank you for providing a hope and a future for so many women, despite the politics and the times. I' was recently at this shelter one thing I can say is it's clean inside better than most shelters, no roaches and the staff here are nice .

As a trans woman i was treated nicely some friendly workers however they were giving me issues with my service dog, food was horrible, felt like a prison at times however i did get all the help i needed even a referral to the dentist!

Bullys that do not support other woman who are leaving an abusive home- AND STAFF DID VRRY POORLY AT AN ACCURATE ASSESSMENT OF THE SITUATION- LEAVING MATTERS FOR A DV SURVIVOR EVEN WORSE!!
